The young Blue Devils got their first chance to play a full pace game against a quality opponent on Saturday as they traveled to Houston to play the third ranked Cougars in a "secret" scrimmage.

Duke was without freshman stars Dariq Whitehead and Dereck Lively II and suffered a 61-50 loss in a 32 minute scrimmage.

Late Saturday night, the box score for the scrimmage was leaked, here's the breakdown:

Duke shot 15-41 from the floor, good for 36.6% from the floor. Seventeen of their 41 shot attempts were from three; they hit only two of those three-point attempts. Despite shooting just 11.8% from three, the Blue Devils shot 18-25 from the line, good for 72%.

Eight players saw floor time, in order of most minutes to least: Jeremy Roach (29), Ryan Young (28), Mark Mitchell (28), Kyle Filipowski (22), Tyrese Proctor (18), Jaylen Blakes (18), Jacob Grandison (15), and Jaden Schutt (3).

The Blue Devils were led in scoring by graduate transfer Ryan Young with 14 points on 3-3 shooting from the field and 8-10 shooting from the line. Young had two blocks and three rebounds as well.

Freshman Mark Mitchell added 12 points on efficient shooting.

Junior Jeremy Roach was the third and final Blue Devil in double-figures with 10 points. The team captain struggled shooting the ball as he was just 3-13 from the field and 1-5 from three. Roach also recorded five fouls in the contest.

Freshman forward Kyle Filipowski had similar shooting woes. He scored 7 points on 3-10 shooting from the field and 0-5 from three.

To round out scoring for the Blue Devils, Tyrese Proctor and Jacob Grandison added 2 points each. Sophomore Jaylen Blakes scored 3 points as well.
