Coming off a close loss at Virginia Tech on Monday, Duke (14-6, 5-4) travels to Georgia Tech (8-12, 1-9) on Saturday as it hopes to overcome its past struggles on the road. In five road games this season, the Blue Devils are just 1-4, with their one win coming at Boston College by one point.
While it's true that Duke lost to a team with just one conference win on Monday, it seems highly unlikely that it happens again on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets have not been a high level team this season. However, they defeated Miami for their only conference win.
Duke will be without Dariq Whitehead who suffered a lower leg injury at VT. X-rays came back negative, so the good news is the injury won't end his season, but his timetable is unclear. He won't play on Saturday, and in his place freshman Jaden Schutt may be up to bat to see more minutes.
The leading scorer for the Yellow Jackets is 6'6' guard Miles Kelly, who averages 13.4 PPG.
This game should provide the Blue Devils a good opportunity to pick up a much needed road win.
