No longer considering Blue Devils, 9/28/22

As of Sept. 28, Stojakovic is no longer considering Duke.

Recently, the sharpshooting four star wing from California narrowed his list down to six schools: Oregon, Stanford, Texas, Duke, Virginia, and UCLA. The son of former multiple time NBA All-Star Peja Stojakovic, Andrej has quickly become a sought after prospect in the class of 2023.

Duke is not considered the frontrunner in Stojakovic's recruitment as of now. It is believed that he is leaning toward the west coast schools. Part of the hesitancy to declare Duke a favorite is due to their ongoing recruitment of TJ Power (see evaluation on Power here) who plays the same position as Andrej....roughly speaking. Stojakovic can really shoot it, so if Power opts to go elsewhere I would expect Duke to go all in for Andrej. I have scoured over YouTube clips of Power's game and found the best ones to highlight his game so you do not have to and will provide my own personal thoughts on each:

Breakdown: He exhibits great ball handling that allows him to create separation on three point attempts. Those three point attempts come quick and often. He has a quick release and the ability to hit shots off the catch or the dribble which is a dangerous sight.

Can shoot quickly on turn around jumpers as well. His game translates to modern basketball brilliantly, much like his father.

I cannot stress the rapidity of his shot and ability to create space with uncharacteristically good ball handling for a wing enough. To say it is intriguing would be an understatement. He has a solid floater as well.

Breakdown: Spin move dribble is consistently lethal. Ability to dribble forward into shot as well as around screens or defenders stands out. There are few weaknesses to his shot in general. I alluded to a turn around jumper present in the last clip, here he shows an ability to fade away on that turn around. When it comes to Stojakovic, it is quite simple. He can shoot. He can shoot quickly. And he can shoot in just about any manner imaginable.
