Duke senior guard Celeste Taylor was named the 2023 ACC Defensive Player of the Year the league announced Tuesday. Taylor was also named a member of 1st Team All-ACC and to the All-Defensive team as well. She is the first Blue Devil to win DPOY since Lexie Brown in 2018. Taylor was recently tabbed as one of the 10 semi-finalist for the Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year.
Taylor was the only Blue Devil to earn recognition from the ACC. Although Head Coach Kara Lawson placed in second behind Notre Dame's Niele Ivey for ACC Coach of the Year.
