The Duke men's basketball team fell 8 spots from No. 16 to No. 24 in this week's AP Poll after losing by 24 points at NC State and struggling to defeat Boston College last week. Now 12-4, this is the lowest the Blue Devils have been ranked all season. Heading into a tough week with matchups against Pittsburgh and Clemson, this week could be Duke's final straw before falling out of the poll if they do not win both games.

Houston is the new No. 1 and Duke's two non-conference losses to Kansas and Purdue were to the now ranked No. 2 and 3 teams in the country. Actually, Duke lost to the entire top-3 if you count its secret scrimmage loss to Houston as well.

Duke's win over Xavier is looking very good as the Musketeers climb to No. 12.

As for the ACC, Virginia fell two spots to No. 13 after losing to Pitt. Mimi dropped four spots to No. 16 following a loss to Georgia Tech. Clemson received the second most votes of any team to miss the poll, and UNC, NC State, and Pittsburgh also received votes.

Following a win at Wake Forest, its ninth consecutive win, the Duke women's basketball team rose to No. 16 in this week's poll.

As for the ACC, Notre Dame fell three spots to No. 7 after dropping to UNC. The Tar Heels remained No. 22 despite a loss to Miami. Virginia Tech fell to No. 13 and NC State to No. 12 after losses.
