Will Flory Bidunga be Duke's next commitment? Get to know the 5-star big

August 7, 2023

If you ever find yourself in Kokomo High School located in Indiana, be sure to check out one of their hottest rising attractions: the world’s largest flyswatter — also known as Flory Bidunga.

Bidunga is an elite shot blocker, ranked No. 4 in the class of 2024 by 247Sports. The 6-foot-8 rim runner with a 7-foot-4 wingspan won’t hesitate to either block your shot or catch a lob and dunk it down with authority.

Bidunga is originally from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, but he moved to the United States in 2021. He is still new to the game of basketball with only a few years of playing experience, but that fact should be scary to opposing teams because he just keeps getting better and better.

He has a gifted shot blocking ability and a motor that doesn’t stop, which is why Blue Devils fans hope that he will be wearing the D-U-K-E across his chest when he plays in college.

He has many “Power 5” offers, such as Duke, Kansas, Auburn, Indiana, and Cincinnati — among others.

Recently, he visited Duke over the summer, and rumor has it that he is nearing his college commitment. A social media post from Bidunga recently announced his final four school choices: Duke, Michigan, Auburn, and Kansas.

Each school believes they have a good chance to add Bidunga to their roster. However, recently the college hoops world has been buzzing with Duke trending to be the victors of this recruiting battle, despite the Blue Devils entering the battle later than most schools.

My prediction is that the offical Duke Men's Basketball Twitter/X account posts the classic “Another One” video after Bidunga announces his commitment to Duke University.
